"Follow me out of the darkness… as I try not to look back. This exhibit and its primary color represents my journey through loss, turmoil and rediscovery. Similar to Orpheus, I went inward to search for the love I had for myself. Through obstacles, tough questions and with the support of my partner, my family and my friends I have arrived where I am today, sharing my creative expression with you of that very journey. You may think what you have above is darker than what lies below, however sometimes in attempting the descent we learn the true lessons of nature, ourselves and our humanity. As you follow me out of this unfamiliar place, I implore you to connect with what darkness, the unknown, and death mean to you and your life. For me that was EGO and the many things I let cloud my vision of who I really was. Life may drive us to take solace in the black abyss of the void, but humility and our presence above allow us to truly live. Don’t look back.
